And now, the conclusion.
Just like summer is leaving, another RPGaDay comes to an end. I am always happy when it does because that means I have managed to participate in another one. But at this point, it gets a bit nostalgic since this is my seventh year doing this.
Speaking of nostalgia, let’s talk about missing games. But before that, I’ll just say I don’t miss any gamers. I am happy with my home group, which has been forged for ten years (not in the fires of Mount Doom, though).
Now as for games that I miss, I want to say D&D 4e and this time not as many people will freak out, since it has been proven by people much more popular than me, that it was a good game. If you want to call it something, I believe misunderstood is a better word for it.
Now, since it’s the last day, let’s keep going for a bit. Another game I miss is miniature gaming in general. I don’t have much time now so I can’t go at it. I believe the last time I played was the Christmas of 2022. Keeping up with Warhammer rules is not worth it so that’s another issue. I started dabbling into One Page Rules and that was the only reason I managed to play then. I need to get back to it because I’ve got a ton of minis I want to paint, and some I’m too afraid to paint (see that sweet sweet Nagash I showed off in one of this year’s posts).
Let’s keep going! I miss Wingspan, an amazing board game. I tried it last summer and it was a blast. I need to check with the local board gaming group if anyone is up for it. I also kinda miss playing Terraforming Mars so I’ll have to ask Anastasios to play with me at some point. We know he’s going to win because the strategy I follow in many board games with good art is “I play this card because it’s the coolest/cutest looking”. Oh! And I also want to freshen up my Legend of the Five Rings CCG rules so I can play some more of that.
Of course, all of these will have to wait because my terrible work-wise summer is moving to a terrible work-wise September. So I need to wait until the first half of September is gone before I can start trying all that. But in the meantime, a man can dream, and also do a little bit of worldbuilding.
And to all of you who managed to read through my random ramblings, and those who participated in this year’s RPGaDay, I say thank you and I hope to see you next year.
And until next time, have fun!
