Our friends at Monument Studios are excited to announce the release of Fantasy+, a platform to stream cinematic music for your sessions. Get 90 days free with the Code “HI”!
Fantasy+ is a tool for GMs everywhere who want to enhance the player experience with ambient music, sounds, and effects. It gives you the ability to create custom playlists and soundboards with over 6000 audio files, including hundreds of music tracks for fantasy, horror, sci-fi and more, tons of sound effects – all of them copyright-free, so you can stream your podcast or actual play without fear. You can browse this extensive collection according to tags or mood, mix and match files, and of course upload your own.
It is more of a relaunch or a major version release than a completely new app, with major new features, content, and functionality – and a history of reliability, trusted by many industry professionals, as seen by the multiple testimonials you can find on their page. The Kickstarter project was funded in just 2 hours and exceeded its goal by about 10 times.
Available on both MacOS and Windows, it also comes with Discord integration – an essential feature that lets you stream directly to your group instead of sending YouTube links in the chat or trying to get your sound settings to cooperate and get the proper input. In addition, there are plans for a desktop app as well as constant updates with new features and improvements.
With no microtransactions and a promise by the developers to never raise the $4.99 monthly price, this is the most affordable TTRPG audio resource in the world, combined with fantastic quality. While I am not usually excited about audio, I was genuinely impressed with the quality and variety of tracks and the simplicity and straightforwardness of the platform makes me want to look more into using audio during my sessions. Plus, as a neat little bonus, you can use a lot of the chill ambient tracks as background music for when you are relaxing or working (or studying – I’m so glad I’m past the phase where I need to study for exams or anything like that).

As I mentioned, it is trivially easy to use – just log in, and you immediately see your playlist board. You can add new tracks and one-shot sounds to the playlist, customizing it according to the mood or theme you’re going for, and then you just save the playlist for future use. Sharing the playlist with others (who don’t need to have an account!) allows them to hear the audio that you control but not do something else with it. You wouldn’t want players thinking they’re funny as they spam sound effects, would you? As for the audio tracks, they’re all neatly organized into categories, but you can also search for specific terms. Overall, it’s all pretty simple – you can grasp how the system works in just a glance.
