#RPGaDAY2025 – Day 20: Enter

You don’t need to speak “friend” to enter. You just need a ten-foot pole.

This prompt immediately makes me think of entrances and, to an extent, doors. And doors can be great sources of storytelling.

Sometimes, doors are obvious. But other times not so much.

Doors can be used for a defensive advantage, especially if their size is smaller than usual or if they are a bit more sturdy.

Locks are great accessories for doors. Sometimes, multiple locks are set on one door. This can pose a greater challenge to picking those locks or finding the right keys for them.

So secure

But remember. A door is merely a challenge. And challenges always have multiple solutions. Sometimes you need to think outside the box.

I wonder how we can get past this door. It looks quite sturdy and secure.

Doors may also be metaphorical. It can be the concept of passing from one state to another. You may need to reach a specific understanding before you can grasp what’s beyond.

I can never get enough of this view

But you must always be careful. Because as you ponder outside, you don’t know what is peeking back.

Technically not a door, but it can be used as such

Oh, and don’t forget that there’s not really a specific shape for a door. So keep your eyes open.

There’s definitely something in there. Or it’s just my imagination.

Thank you for taking a look at my door collection. I’m sure I have more somewhere, but these will have to suffice for now. What’s the next prompt? It’s unexpected. Insert “who’s on first joke here”.

And until next time, have fun!
