This one is easy.
Even though I am mostly a GM, I have played a few characters. I like most of them but they weren’t that memorable. Instead, there is one specific character that I kinda controlled that is a group favourite.
The character started as a wizard at the hands of a player at the start of the Out of the Abyss campaign. However, the player quit and the character remained in some sort of limbo for a while. At some point, I changed his name and used him in order to help the party because it was comprised of only two members. So, he became Therai, a divination wizard that, up to this day, it is unknown if he is blind or not because he made quite a few puns about “seeing” things but he was saying he was blind. I mostly used him for the portent feature, in order to change the rolls in favour of the players. He was somewhat there at all times but also kinda not there. I didn’t want to have a character but I also enjoyed the fun he added, while also helping the players.
But his legacy doesn’t stop with Out of the Abyss. Even when we finished playing, Therai has been called a few times into other games. Basically, he is now some sort of low level deity and can answer the call for help from characters at his own whim.
And that is the story of Therai, the probably blind (but also not) divination wizard maybe deity. Tomorrow’s question is “Favourite DICE”. Oh, I can either talk about favourite dice type or I can show off my favourite dice. Or maybe both…
And until next time, have fun!
