The word poise will always bring a specific character to mind.

Poise can be a feature for many characters, both mechanic or background wise. Wizards need poise so they do not lose control of their spells. Monks, many times, fight with a calm resolve. Barbarians…well, no. Anyway. Of all those ideas and concepts that pop up in my head, there is one specific character that will always come first to mind. Jarlaxle Baenre. He managed to combine his Drow upbringing and roguish character into the epitome of poise, in my eyes. He is always fun to come across. In Out of the Abyss that I was running, the characters got the chance to meet him. Also in Waterdeep: Dragon Heist, the characters came across him for a moment, even though he wasn’t the main antagonist.

And that’s all for today, because I remembered I should probably go finish the Road of the Patriarch, because it’s been sitting on my nightstand for a while now. Tomorrow’s prompt is charm.
