Last day! Woooo!
And here we are. Last day of RPGaDay 2026. But before getting all sentimental and stuff, let’s tackle the matter at hand.
Why does a character think they have an edge?
For the sake of my brain, I will take this as not an abstract question but one that is targeted towards a specific character.
The wizard I haven’t gotten bored talking about is meant to follow the school of divination. It’s a whole family thing and he’s supposed to be a key member of his family regarding divination. So he was brought up believing in the concepts of fate, prophecies, seeing through the various strands of realities and the such. And growing up tangled in all that has somewhat affected him a bit.
It hasn’t reached the level of committing hubris, but the more fortunate things happen around him, the more confident he feels. So he’s slowly believing that, at the very least, fate is favouring him. I’m really looking forward to finding out how this will turn out. There’s always the possibility that he will wisen up before something serious happens, but where’s the fun in that?
And that’s all for today. In fact, that’s all for RPGaDay 2026. Thank you for following through the month. This event always gives me food for thought and I should expand on some concepts at some point. If you participated, please drop a link in the comments below so I can check out your submissions. If you did not participate, I highly suggest participating next year. It’s fun., it’s thought provoking, and it’s overall a great time.
And until next time, have fun!
