For the month of August, the D&D team provides some interesting options for casters.

To be precise, we are offered a new Pact for the Warlock and a new Tradition for the Wizard. The theme of those two is a connection to a deity.

For the Warlock, the Pact of the Seeker ties them with a deity dedicated to gathering knowledge and lore. The powers granted by this deity give you some control over the forces of the Astral Plane. I really like its flavor and I also believe it’s a powerful Pact.

For the Wizard, we have the Theurgy Arcane Tradition. Like with the Warlock, the Wizard is tied with a deity, but this time the deity claims the arcane as their domain. I like the concept of deities having wizards act as their clerics and priests. Also, I believe this is a powerful Tradition. Divine Arcana seems pretty good.

I’d like to mention here that, when using this material you should have in mind that it’s playtest material. That means that there’s a chance that it’s not perfectly balanced.
