DMs Guild Preview – Rogue Archetype: Saboteur

I have a very exciting announcement to make!

For the last few months, I’ve been working on a few projects with a friend of mine. Today, I’m excited to tell you that one of them is complete. Our first submission on the DMs Guild is live.

The Saboteur is a Rogue Archetype whose core abilities rely on using a variety of traps.


This make you the most effective when you can prepare the battlefield beforehand. However, this doesn’t mean you’re helpless when time is short. You can still deploy traps on the fly, as well as throw some of them

I’d like to note some things from the designer’s standpoint. We intentionally made the Saboteur learn every trap. This makes the class more versatile but you will still have to make choices. You don’t get to know all the trap schematics from the beginning. This means you will have to carefully choose the order in which you learn them.

Moreover, even when every schematic is learned, not every Saboteur is going to be exactly the same. That’s where the upgrades mechanic kicks in, allowing you to augment some of them.
