Christmas In July – Five Days Left

It’s actually a little less than six days but who’s counting?

I had forgotten about this sale. It feels it’s one of the biggest ones since I see a lot of creators putting their content on sale.

I haven’t purchased anything yet because I’m trying to control myself a bit but I’ve been eyeing a few pieces. First, we have the Shadowrun Fifth Edition. I haven’t played Shadowrun yet but it’s high on my list. I love the lore of the world and how it melds magic and technology together. Also, I’ve tried one of the PC games and was quite fun. That’s a tiny bit irrelevant but I had to mention it, because if you like this setting and tactical games you should give these games a try.

Continuing with another cyberpunk system, Cyberpunk 2020. This has gotten quite the popularity boost since its video game adaptation was officially announced earlier this summer. If I remember correctly, along with the video game there will be an update on the system as well. Don’t quote me on that, however, because I couldn’t find a source on that. If anyone knows something please let me know. By the way, last month I did a quick search on Amazon on physical copies of the system(I know there’s a print on demand option, I was just doing it for fun) and the prices are insane.

Moving on to something a lot different, there’s the Astonishing Swordsmen & Sorcerers of Hyperborea. I don’t have any experience with this but an acquaintance of mine has been saying only good things about it. I respect his opinions on tabletop RPGs a lot so he had me thinking. Also the art looks really nice and their promotional video seems quite convincing.

And last but not least, I’ve spotted something interesting. It’s Amazing Tales, a RPG made for kids. The idea of running a game for kids is intriguing. It would be really interesting to get a thing going locally in order to introduce young kids to the awesomeness that is RPGs. While this isn’t an active project of mine, I always have my eyes open for ideas and content that may be of interest and this one looks promising.

As I said, I haven’t purchased these RPGs yet so I don’t have any personal experience with them. If you have tried any of them, I’d love to know your opinions and possibly other recommendations.

And until next time, have fun!
