There are many inspiring people in our hobby.
I believe I must mention two people in this one, and that’s what I’m going to do.
The first one I want to mention is my first GM ever. He ran only one session for me but it was enough to make me want to be part of this hobby. He even was the one who made me start thinking about becoming a GM.
Which leads me to the second person I want to mention, who is none other than Chris Perkins. If my first GM made me think about becoming a GM, Chris Perkins made sure that I would end up preferring GMing over being a player.
His Acquisitions Incorporated games and his column have been huge sources of inspiration for me. I still read some of his articles every now and then and I keep learning things from them. Seriously, if you haven’t ever checked out his column you definitely should.
Due to the redesign of the Wizards website, it’s a bit tricky to find the articles. First, you can check out this link that has a really nice PDF of many of the articles. Then, you can go to this link and in the search bar enter “The Dungeon Master Experience” and I think you’re good to go.
And that’s my answer for today’s question. I’d really love to know who has inspired you. Maybe I’ll be able to learn from them as well.
What am I going to share tomorrow? Tomorrow I’ll be sharing a friendship I have because of RPGs.
So until then, have fun!
