Kickstarter – Ultramodern5, a 5E universal sci-fi sourcebook

Second Edition.

Ultramodern5 is a toolkit that provides rules for D&D 5th Edition for use in non-fantasy settings. It is a platinum bestseller on DriveThruRPG. The purpose of this Kickstarter is to create an expanded second edition of Ultramodern5.

The second edition is going to be double the size of the first edition, reaching 400 pages without counting possible stretch goals. Moreover, the black and white artwork is going to be replaced with new illustrations by Hugo-nominated artist, Nick Greenwood.

THIS NEW SOURCEBOOK WILL INCLUDE:
A revised “ladder” system, offering more adjustability with character creation. Modify your class with one of seven ladders.

Revamped rules around being human as well as new variant races.

A new lifepath system incorporating backgrounds into an adjustable life history where characters can select every aspect of their character’s history, from family and friends to past love affairs.

“At least” twelve new classes including the infiltrator, medic, sniper, and techie.

Over thirty archetypes.

Hundreds of new weapons including traditional firearms, rocket launchers, and laser rifles.

New armor including powered combat suits.

An entire mecha construction and combat system.

Purchase and modify vehicles.

Over a hundred new monsters including giant robots.

Two included adventures—a zombie apocalypse and an alien invasion.

A tour of the first edition can be found here

I suggest giving this project a look, especially if you enjoy 5th Edition. It’s already a successful toolkit and this project is going to enrich it considerably.
