Here’s the thing.
I don’t remember any character that really had tact. And it’s simple, really. We usually remember things that cause intense feelings, either good or bad. That means you may remember a character that did something that really frustrated you. Or someone who said something that had you crying from laughter. But to remember a character for their tact? I find it a bit difficult. I’m not saying that these characters aren’t necessary and that everyone should make absurd ones. It’s just, in my opinion, we play to have fun and make cool memories. And you won’t remember that one time when the Druid agreed that we should be careful about how we approach the goblins, in case they decide to betray us. But you may remember that time when the Wizard who had cast comprehend languages heard the goblins refer to a sacred bell as bucket in Goblin and managed to repeat the word (by rolling a natural 20 Int check), therefore scaring them by making them think he knows Goblin. Or when a cleric of Hieronimus cut the head of a Hobgoblin and mounted it on his shield out of frustration, making him lose his connection to his god for a bit.
And that’s all for today. Tact is good and necessary. But you will remember the tactless things in-game. And, yes, all that happened in the session I played a few hours ago. Tomorrow’s prompt is Loss. I don’t like this one.
And until next time, have fun!
