I’ve been showing limited signs of life the past 10 days. Even twitter didn’t escaped that. There are many reasons this happened.
For starters, I decided to take a couple of days off when I finished the D&D 30 Day Challenge. It was really fun for me to do the challenge. Luckily, most of it happened before my university studies could interfere a lot. But having to write everyday was a little taxing for me. Don’t get me wrong, though. I really liked it and I will be doing more challenges in the future.
Another reason is my studies. It’s that time of the semester when the amount of the required study time, homework, and projects increases A LOT. And also, recently I haven’t been sleeping well. So with these two things combined, my mood is not so great. However, I’m confident I will be able to manage once I fix my sleeping schedule(which I’m planning on doing tonight).
These two are the reasons I haven’t written the last 10 days. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been playing. Last week I DMed another session of the Out of the Abyss campaign, which went on pause until next week since some of the players also have lots of work piling up. Fear not, though, because we’ve picked up my homebrew campaign. We played a session last Tuesday and this Friday there’s probably going to be another one. I’ve also decided to try the Mystic class from last month’s Unearthed Arcana. So, apart from my homebrew campaign session, I’ll be running a small playtest session too. My players seem happy and mostly like what I present to them, I still believe I’m not that good and can(and must) get better, and so there is balance in the Force. But the most important thing is that we play and I’m really glad about it.
As of ideas, I’ve been having lots of them lately. From items and places to BBEGs(Big Bad Evil Guys for those not familiar with the abbreviation) and monsters. I’ve been noting all those down for further development. Ideas for new articles have been coming up easier as of late too, and have started creating a pleasant backlog.
Another thing I want to do that I’ve also talked about in my new year’s resolution post is map making. I’ve decided to change that to drawing in general because I’ve been trying to doodle some weird looking weapons lately. However, map making will remain my main focus. I will probably start next week, though, because a project deadline is near.
So that’s what has happened the last 10 days and, also, what I’m planning for the near future. You should be expecting me to come back later this week.
So until then, have fun!
