#RPGaDay 2018: Day 19 – Music that enhances your game

Music you say.

RPG-a-Day 2018

I have to admit that I don’t use music in my games as much as I want to. I tend to run most of my sessions without a laptop so I don’t have easy access to music. Also we sometimes meet and play at a cafe, which makes it hard to use music.

Though when I do get the chance to use music, I always go for game soundtracks. World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, and Age of Mythology have soundtracks that I love listening to. The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion soundtrack has both calm and intense music you can use in games. Auriel’s Ascension will always be one of my favorite pieces of music of all times.

Moreover, I use music when I’m preparing for a session or doing some RPG writing in general. It helps a lot to get my creative juices flowing.

And that’s my answer for today’s question. I want to ask you if you use music and also other sound effects. There are various services for both that I haven’t delved into yet. Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Tomorrow’s question is “Which game mechanic inspires your play the most?”. This question is really interesting. There are many mechanics that I like but I need to figure out which one inspires my play the most.

So until then, have fun!
